Years of driving long distances alone.
Working and living as a musician puts you in the ‘night shift’.
Nobody around in the day time to play with,
nobody to bash ideas around with while you drive back from a gig
(because they are all asleep)
So everything you do or decide seems to come out of nowhere.
“It’s not that! It’s just that you were asleep whilst I was thinking!”
So by 7am I’m just pulling in to my parent’s house 300 miles away
and my dad say “do you want a cup of tea?”
And the people I left, awake to find I’m gone and 300 miles away.
“When did this happen?!?”
“While you were sleeping.”
