About Us
Uncle Art Music is a family affair, run by the father and daughter team of Dave Lowe and Holly Jazz Lowe. Dave is renowned in the field of music composition and programming thanks to his work with some of the biggest names in the video game industry from the 80s and 90s. He is a musician, singer and songwriter in his own right and has been a professional live musician since the age of 15. In recent years he has honed his mixing and studio skills and now also works as a producer and mix producer.
Holly is a professional pianist and singer and also works as a session singer and musician on a variety of professional projects. She was signed to Mercury Records aged 17 as a solo artist and songwriter and recorded an album for international release. She was signed further with indie labels and toured all over receiving wide acclaim not only for her rich vocals and musicianship, but for her continuing innovative, creative and totally original songwriting. She can always be found behind a keyboard or a mixing desk, trying out new ideas and fresh musical interpretations.
Dave and Holly work closely in collaboration together in composition, arrangement and production. Between them they cover almost every type of instrument and style. Dave’s decades of experience match perfectly with Holly’s expert knowledge of contemporary songwriting, and the between the two of them there’s hardly a single aspect of music that isn’t covered. Dave’s technical skills as a programmer and the work he did to progress technologies beyond sampled music leaves him fully capable of any form of interactive music and able to talk to game developers on a coding level. Holly, who was games-testing for her dad when she was 9, is still today a passionate gamer and also learned a lot of tricks a long the way. Indeed it is not unknown for Dave to have Holly writing test codes for his new software he has created.
Uncle Art Music thrive on anything they can be creative on. If they can push the boundaries – then all the better but that’s not to say they don’t love a simple piano melody or know how to create rich emotions manipulated through music. Self-taught and not from the ‘Composer Schools’, this gives them an edge. They believe in powerful melody and fusion of instrumentation and styles to create new, fresh and classic soundtracks. After all: You can teach guitar, but you can’t teach rock and roll!
