Home 1953 – HJL & DL

This song is written by myself and my dad; my part when I was 19, he when he was 53! Hence the title!
It is about the differences in those ages – the younger part going ‘what the hell do I do? I shall watch a teen-movie to see if it can teach me about how I should be feeling,’ and the older part, much wiser. The older you get the more you realise you know nothing. etc. We had a boat at the time of the writing of this song and so hence my dad’s words are very much influenced by the allegory of sailing and making it through every kind of condition. Look out for a film sample from the Princess Bride. LOVE THAT FILM!
