This little Rhodes-y soul track is a song about panic attacks (emerging theme!) – the way all thought and logic leaves and you become literally all feeling. It tries to draw comparisons to other situtations where this might be the case too….
Look at my hands, watch them go first into heat and frightened scores of words
Think of a tin too far away, a drug not in my pocket cannot help me today
My nerves are shot, they try to run away but the seconds of my nature are asking them to stay and fight
A tunnel crowd, eyes to the ground, ebbing from perspective that was once so loud
And that was around about the time I became all feeling.
Think of a sky seen through your roof
I think of all the night times when I felt my youth
This northern town never felt so close the centre of the times that I love the most
They took my mind they took my reasoning,
The took my ears and eyes and they coloured me blind with love
And then I found my head to the clouds
Shaking off the shoes that used to dance on the ground
And that was around about the time I became all feeling.
We’re chasing the highest sun
We’re beating the loudest drum
Don’t take this feeling from my life
